How about a quilt cover instead?

Sometimes we get requests to make quilts covers using the baby quilt panels. We are more than happy to oblige, of course :)

The same alphabet animal patchwork, turned into a quilt cover... With cute pink buttons at the back for closure, and backed with the same fabric as the border (those pink teddies are adorable!!). Too bad I forgot to take pics of the back!

We're happy to note that the customer returned home happy too :)

We still have some of the panels too (but in very limited supply!), so if you like it, come and get it!

Same Blossom Lane panel, different look

We've made quilts from this panel before, but usually sticking to various pink shades as the main border color, creating sweet, pleasing quilts. This is the first time we've used a different color scheme, based in the customer's request.

The end result? It looks great! Bright & cheerful, it's a pretty addition to any baby room :)

Scrappy patchwork blanket

We haven't had much time to work on our scrap bins, but once in a while we'd work on one muslin square at a time. For this particular piece, we didn't have a specific scheme in mind, so it truly is randomly scrappy :)

The squares were finally pieced together with sashing & border, but the quilt top wasn't basted just yet. We had it on display at the shop while it was still a work in progress.

Last week, in walks a customer who took a fancy to the quilt top & asked for it straightaway. She wasn't keen on using batting though; she only wanted a flannel backing for some warmth. We were only too happy to oblige...

It's now all done, with moderate quilting... It came out to a good big size, 59'' x 67''. I hope the owners will enjoy using it :)

Flannel-backed baby blanket

Some folks like the various colourful & cute options quilt panels and fabrics have, but don't quite fancy the batting in quilts.

The solution? Easy! Flannel-backed blankets! You can still sandwich batting between the quilt top/panel and backing, but if you want something lighter & less bulky, this is one way to go :)

This one's taken, but we'd be more than happy to make more!

p/s. this would be a great option for 'blankies' :)

Snail Trails Baby Quilt - all done!

This order came with the request for a thicker-than-usual batting. Luckily we still had some, so we put it to good use.

The batting was a challenge to quilt, though! A couple of needles broke, so for the final border we went with hand quilting instead.

It's such a bright, colorful quilt, and the little girl it belongs to will be surrounded by happy vibes for sure :)

Cars quilt set - another happy customer :)

This time we used an organic cotton piece as the centerpiece.... The customer liked the cars print and wanted a quilt, plus custom-sized pillow & bolster casings with this as the primary fabric.

The dark brown batik and multicolored dots on blue contrasted and complemented the cars nicely, methinks :) the quilting was a simple crosshatch for the main panel and stitch-in-the-ditch along the borders.

I'm very happy to note that both customer & son loved the set. Thank you for placing your trust in us!

Gorgeous custom orders

We've been blessed with several custom orders this year, and I just realized we haven't showcased any of them here!

This was a bed roll with a matching pillow. It can be rolled up and tied up (with the pillow inside) for easy carrying...

This is a kekabu mattress set, with a baby quilt (cotton batting), matching pillow & cover and bolster cover... The owner has since requested and received another set of covers for the mattress, pillow and bolster cases in an absolutely gorgeous green giraffe print! I forgot to take pics of that before delivery :(

This cute quilt was commissioned for a gift, and was completed just in time. Don't you just love the bright colors?

This is a wall-hanging, with a mix of hand & machine-quilting. It looks so pretty hanging on the wall!

And this was our largest order to date: a quilt, cot bumper, pillows and bolsters and matching covers for all. Almost each item had applique of various space-related images.... and the bright colors were absolutely gorgeous!!!! We even got a teeny peek at them in use in some newspaper articles hehehe...

Those who visit our other blog may have seen these before, but I thought it'd be fun to show them here too :)
