We've been blessed with several custom orders this year, and I just realized we haven't showcased any of them here!

This was a bed roll with a matching pillow. It can be rolled up and tied up (with the pillow inside) for easy carrying...

This is a kekabu mattress set, with a baby quilt (cotton batting), matching pillow & cover and bolster cover... The owner has since requested and received another set of covers for the mattress, pillow and bolster cases in an absolutely gorgeous green giraffe print! I forgot to take pics of that before delivery :(

This cute quilt was commissioned for a gift, and was completed just in time. Don't you just love the bright colors?

This is a wall-hanging, with a mix of hand & machine-quilting. It looks so pretty hanging on the wall!

And this was our largest order to date: a quilt, cot bumper, pillows and bolsters and matching covers for all. Almost each item had applique of various space-related images.... and the bright colors were absolutely gorgeous!!!! We even got a teeny peek at them in use in some newspaper articles hehehe...

If I do say so myself :)

A colleague initially requested 2 little Raya handbags for her girls, then added on 2 more for her nieces... as long as I was in the bag-mode, I made up an extra bag (just in case :) ). Each bag was embellished with a funky button on the strap closure, and secured with either a velcro tab or magnetic button. The bags are large enough to fit in girlie necessities plus their collection of Raya angpaus hehehe....

Final outcome?

Please excuse the upside-down-ness of the pic above... No idea how that happened, and try as I might, it still comes out that way :(

The 2 for her daughters had names embroidered on the bags...

These 2 went to her nieces...

And this last one went to a little girl living far far away (who came back for the Raya hols) :)

All in all, am very satisfied with the outcome :)

We have been so busy this past month... but busy is good, so we're not complaining!! :)

We have been working on a couple of custom orders, on top of the smaller requests, within a really tight deadline... and we're happy to say we're almost done!

Here's a sneak peek at some of the things that we're up to...

Work-in-progress... Disney Princesses

Remember these Disney Princesses? A customer came in and bought the rest of the panels we had in stock, and proceeded to sign up for classes as well. This was the project she worked on over several weeks...

She interspersed deep dark tone-on-tone and marbled purples with white polkadots on pale purple...

and finished off with borders of blue & purple flowers and marbled purple... there was a slight mistake in her final row (can you see it?), but I feel it adds character to her quilt :)

She used cotton batting for the quilt... she also wanted to hand-quilt the whole item (which is lovely and much easier to do with cotton batting), so it may take some more time for the final product to be ready :) It turned out to be quite a huge quilt, almost a queen-sized item!

Introducing.... The Mia Dress

Introducing the Mia dress...

This is our first attempt at making this pretty dress... It's really versatile, cos even for this particular size, it can fit kids up to 2 years old without making a bigger outfit due to it's adjustable shoulder ties! On a 6-12-month-old, this would make an ankle-length dress (gorgeous with just bloomers underneath), as she grows older, it would make a lovely knee-length dress that can be paired with tights if need be, and eventually it can be a frilly top. Of course it can be made into a bigger dress too :)

This was the first one made... named in honor of the recipient, cute and bubbly Mia :)

Aren't they cute?? I just love the pattern! We'll be making more in the future, so stay tuned!

Cotton/flannel blanket

We had just finished basting this baby quilt, and was gonna start quilting... a customer came in and saw the piece, and straightaway wanted it for his son... he didn't want the quilt sandwich though, and wanted a flannel backing for the blanket, so we switched out the original batting and backing and replaced it with this flannel piece that he chose...

The flannel piece has little animals all over... so cute!!! We quilted straight lines around the panel, plus did some hand-quilting around the circles in the center panel.

Hope the little guy loves it as much as I did making it :)

These two bright baby quilts were commissioned as gifts for 2 friends who recently welcomed new additions to their families... almost identical, except for the sequence of borders. Very unisex design, don'tcha think?

Slight detour from using our usual American cotton, as we were requested to showcase the bright, colorful center panel fabric (perfect for babies, I think!). The simple design nicely framed the center panel, and the larger images were hand-quilted for a more special touch.
